Recurring scientific field work in Quebec
Fisheries and Oceans Canada (DFO) conducts research and undertakes scientific monitoring in support of sustainable fisheries, healthy aquatic ecosystems and living resources, as well as hydrographic activities in support of safe and efficient navigation.
Below you will find information sheets for recurring scientific operations planned annually in the estuary and the northern Gulf of St. Lawrence as well as in Nunavik. These fact sheets aim to inform the Canadian population, mainly the coastal Indigenous and Inuit communities of Québec. The Department wishes to build bridges with First Nations and Inuit in its scientific mandate and establish relationships based on the recognition of rights, respect, cooperation and partnership.
