Fisheries and Oceans Canada – Quebec Region announces the opening of the snow crab fishing season in area 12C. The opening is scheduled for Saturday, April 1st, 2023 at 5:00 a.m. (EDT) for the first period.

This Area 12 F snow crab Conservation Harvesting Plan (CHP) applies to traditional fish harvesters and to New Access fish harvesters from Quebec and Gulf Regions for the 2023 fishing season.
The Crab fishing area (CFA) 12F is part of Crab fishing area 12 delimited by the straight lines joining the following points in the order listed:

Magdalen Islands – March 29, 2023
Fisheries and Oceans Canada - Quebec Region announces the opening of the Atlantic halibut fishing season, in areas 4RST, for the Magdalen Islands fleet from April 1st, 2023 to April 28, 2023.
The fishing season is divided into 4 periods. A fishing period corresponds to one week. Subject to valid Conditions of Licence and subject to a Variation Order, licence holders are authorized to participate in one of the following 4 fishing periods

This Conservation Harvesting Plan (CHP) for scallop applies to the fleet of scallop licence holders in Gaspé–Lower St. Lawrence areas 17A1, 17A2, 18B1, 18B2, 18C and 19A.

Fisheries and Oceans Canada – Quebec Region announces the opening of the capelin weir fishery in subdivision 4Tp, which will be effective on April 1, 2023.
CAPELIN – AREAS 15 AND 16 – QUEBEC FLEET

This Conservation Harvesting Plan (CHP) is applicable to capelin licence holders in areas 15 and 16 of Quebec region.
The authorized fishing areas are capelin fishing areas 15 and 16.
Gaspé – March 23,2023
Fisheries and Oceans Canada – Quebec Region announces the opening of the Atlantic halibut fishery for the Gaspé fixed gear fleet less than 13.71 m from the Others group in the 4RST divisions.
The fishery will be authorized from April 1, 2023 at 5:00 a.m. EDT to April 14, 2023 at 11:59 p.m. EDT and from May 1, 2023 at 5:00 a.m. EDT to May 14, 2023 at 11:59 p.m. EDT. Licence holders may take advantage of either of the proposed fishing periods.
