Fisheries and Oceans Canada – Quebec Region announces the Conservation Harvesting Plan for the North Shore Inshore Gear Fleets under the Individual Transferable Quota (ITQ) management regime for Atlantic halibut in NAFO Divisions 4RST as well as the opening of the fishery for the Lower North Shore (LNS) fixed gear fleet for the 2025-2026 management year.

Fisheries and Oceans Canada – Quebec Region announces the opening of the Atlantic Halibut fishery for the Upper and Middle North Shore (UMNS) Fixed Gear Fleet, Individual Transferable Quotas (ITQs).

Fishing activities will be authorized as of May 15, 2025 at 05:00 (EDT).

Opening of the losbster fishery_Area 19A1-A to 19A1-H and 21A and 21B_ Gaspé-Lower-St.Lawrence Area_ Notice to fish harvesters

Gaspé – May 1, 2025

Fisheries and Oceans Canada – Quebec Region announces the opening and closing dates of the lobster fishery for the following sub-areas :

  • 19A1-A to 19A1-H et 19B : May 6 to July 15 2025
  • 21A et 21B : May 6 to July 13 2025

Please note that the season starts at 4:30 AM for all sub-zones.

The management measures set out in the Conservation Harvesting Plan (CHP), approved on April 19, 2023, are renewed.

Fisheries and Oceans Canada – Quebec Region announces the opening of the Atlantic halibut fishery for the following fixed gear fleets under individual transferable quotas (ITQ) in the Gaspé Peninsula: Gaspé Longliners group, Others group 13.71 m and over, Others group under 13.71 m, AMTG group and the turbot fisher group.

Fishing will be authorized from May 15, 2025 at 05:00 (EDT).

The Minister has announced the continuation of the closure of the Atlantic mackerel commercial fishery for 2025 and 2026. The personal-use bait, recreational, and the food, social and ceremonial fisheries will remain open.
