SEA CUCUMBER – AREAS B and C GASPÉ-LOWER ST.LAWRENCE AREA SEASON 2025

SUBJECT: Opening of the areas B and C sea cucumber fishery

Gaspé – July 22, 2025

Fisheries and Oceans Canada – Quebec Region announces the opening of the sea cucumber commercial fishery using a dredge in Areas B and C. The competitive fishery will be open from July 23 to September 30, 2025.
The Area B and C total allowable catches (TACs) in the authorized depth stratum (32-42 m) are as follows:

SUBJECT: Announcement of fisheries management measures

Fisheries and Oceans Canada - Quebec Region is informing Atlantic halibut fishermen in the Gaspe peninsula fixed-gear fleet under 13.71 m for the Lobster fishers group of the management measures concerning directed fishing in 2025-2026.

OPENING ATLANTIC HALIBUT 4RST GASPÉ FIXED GEAR FLEET LESS THAN 13.71 METRES LOBSTER FISHERS GROUP

Gaspé – March 28, 2025

Fisheries and Oceans Canada – Quebec Region announces the opening of the Atlantic halibut fishery for the Gaspé fixed gear fleet less than 13.71 m from the Lobster fishers group in the 4RST divisions.

The fishery will be authorized from April 1, 2025 at 4:30 a.m.(EDT), to April 28, 2025 at 11:59 p.m. (EDT).

OPENING OF THE AREA 12 TOAD CRAB (HYAS) FISHERY – MAGDALEN ISLAND FLEET 2025 SEASON

Magdalen Islands – August 06, 2025

 

Fisheries and Oceans Canada – Quebec Region announces the opening date for Toad crab fishing in area 12 for the 2025 season. Please note that from now on, the fishing season will be from August 21 to November 13 of each year.

Management measures are described in the 2025 Conservation Harvesting Plan approved on July 16, 2025.

For the Magdalen Islands areas 12, the main modifications are the following:

1.    Application

This Conservation Harvesting Plan (CHP) for Atlantic halibut applies to licence holders of the following fleets when conducting fishing activities for Atlantic halibut in Divisions 4RST of the Northwest Atlantic Fisheries Organization (NAFO) from May 15, 2025 to May 14, 2026 :
