Fisheries and Oceans Canada – Quebec Region announces the opening of the lobster fishing season in areas 17 and 18.
In area 17, the opening has been set for Monday, May 4, 2026 at 5:00 a.m. (EDT) as recommended by the fleets representatives. The fishery will close on Sunday, July 26, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. (EDT).

Fisheries and Oceans Canada – Quebec Region announces the opening of the snow crab fishing season in area 14. The opening has been set for Monday, April 27th, 2026 at 5:00 a.m. (EDT) as recommended by the fleet representatives. The fishery will close on Sunday, August 2nd, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. (EDT).

Fisheries and Oceans Canada – Quebec Region announces the postponement of the opening of the 2026 lobster fishing season in Area 22. Following the recommendations of fleet representatives, the opening date is now set for May 9, 2026.
As of Friday, May 8, 2026, Fisheries and Oceans Canada will implement the weather monitoring protocol. The official opening and closing dates of the fishery will be confirmed through Notices to Fishers and Variation Orders.
