LOBSTER – AREAS 19, 20 AND 21 – Gaspe – Lower St. Lawrence area

SEASON 2026

Subject: Announcement of the opening of the lobster fishery – Area 20

Gaspé – April 30, 2026

Fisheries and Oceans Canada – Quebec Region announces the opening of the lobster fishery for for sub-areas 20A2 to 20B7 from May 3 to July 10, 2026.

Please note that the season starts at 4h30 AM for all sub-areas.

The management measures set out in the Conservation Harvesting Plan (CHP) approved on April 10, 2026 are available on our website.

Please note that a correction has been made to a geographic coordinate defining sub-area 20A1 and 20A2 (the modified point is marked with an asterisk) as follows:

It should be reminded that it is the responsibility of the captain to acquaint himself with the marine safety notices published by Environment and climate change Canada and Transport Canada as well as with the standards and best practices in marine safety and to take all measures necessary to insure a safe fishery during  the period where fishing is authorized.
