REDFISH – MOBILE GEAR OF LESS THAN 13,71 METRES (45’) FLEET
OBJECT : UPDATE OF THE VESSEL REPLACEMENT RULES
Québec – November 25, 2025
Fisheries and Oceans Canada – Quebec Region announces the update of the regional
vessel replacement rules for mobile gear groundfish less than 13,71 metres (45’) licence
holders. Concerned licence holders may now use vessels with a maximum overall length
(OAL) of less than 19.81 metres (65’) for the redfish fishery. The maximum OAL for
vessels that can be used for other groundfish fisheries by these licence holders remains
unchanged (less than 15.24 metres (50 feet)).
These new rules are effective immediately.
