LOBSTER – AREAS 19, 20 AND 21 – Gaspe – Lower St. Lawrence area

SEASON 2026

Subject: Announcement of the opening of the lobster fishery –
Areas 19, 20A1, 20B8 and 21A

Gaspé – May 7, 2026

Fisheries and Oceans Canada – Quebec Region announces the opening date of the lobster fishery for the following area and sub-areas :

    - Area 19, including all sub-areas : from May 9 to July 18, 2026;

    - Sub-areas 21A1, 20B8 and 21A : from May 9 to July 16, 2026

Please note that the season starts at 4h30 AM.

The management measures set out in the Conservation Harvesting Plan (CHP) approved on April 10, 2026 are available on our website.

It should be reminded that it is the responsibility of the captain to acquaint himself with the marine safety notices published by Environment and climate change Canada and Transport Canada as well as with the standards and best practices in marine safety and to take all measures necessary to insure a safe fishery during  the period where fishing is authorized.
