Notice to Fish Harvesters - Clam – area1 – North Shore - season 2026
Subject: Opening of the area clam fishery in area 1 and introduction of the hail-out email
Sept-Iles – March 10, 2026
Fisheries and Oceans Canada – Quebec Region announces the opening of the clam fishery in area 1 for the 2026 Season from March 15, 2026 to October 31, 2026.
Other management measures are described in the 2026-2028 Conservation Harvesting Plan, approved on March 10, 2026.
Hail-out email
Please note that sending hail-out emails before each commercial fishing expedition will be mandatory starting in 2026. License holders must contact Fisheries and Oceans Canada by email at CPHONS-ASCNCP@dfo-mpo.gc.ca at least one hour before departure for each fishing activity (harvest) and provide:
their name,
the estimated date and time of departure,
the target species, and
the shellfish area.
To obtain their Conditions of License, harvesters must access the National Licensing System online (NOLS). For NOLS assistance, please contact customer support by phone at 1-877-535-7307 or by email at fishing-peche@dfo-mpo.gc.ca.
