Opening of the Toad crab fishery in sub-areas CN1 to CN4 - North Shore

Fisheries and Oceans Canada - Quebec Region announces the opening of the sub-areas CN1 à CN4 Toad crab fishing season from July 19 until October 31, 2024.

CONSERVATION HARVESTING PLAN (CHP) SUMMARY BLUEFIN TUNA – GULF – EX-SECTOR – QUEBEC FLEET 2024-2025 SEASON

Application

This CHP applies to Bluefin tuna licence holders from the Quebec fleet using vessels of less than 19.81 m. the authorized fishing areas for Bluefin tuna are: 4RST for Gulf fishing (home waters) and 4Wd, 4VsW, 4X and 5 for Ex-Sector fishing.

Fishing season

The 2024 fishing season for the Quebec region Bluefin tuna fleet will occur from July 20, 2024 to November 15, 2024. The opening date is regularly discussed within the regional advisory committee.

ANNOUNCEMENT OF 2024 FISHERY MANAGEMENT MEASURES BLUEFIN TUNA – GULF – EX-SECTOR – LESS THAN 19.81 M FLEET

Quebec – July 11, 2024

Fisheries and Oceans Canada informs the Bluefin tuna Quebec licence holders of the management measures for the commercial fishery in the Gulf of St. Lawrence and Ex-sector that will be in place for the 2024 fishing season.

The fishery will take place from July 20 to November 15, 2024. An initial allocation of 25.190 t is granted to the Quebec fleet for the Bluefin tuna directed fishery.

ANNOUNCEMENT OF MANAGEMENT MEASURES-ATLANTIC HALIBUT 4RST MAGDALEN ISLANDS FLEET 2024-2025 SEASON

Fisheries and Oceans Canada - Quebec Region announces the 2024-2025 management measures for the Atlantic halibut fixed gear fleet from Magdalen Islands.

Quota and management regime

The initial allocation of the fleet is 162.4 t, managed under individual transferable quotas (ITQ).

Fishing Season

The duration of the fishing season is 16 weeks, as follows:

Period 1:        From July 14 to October 5, 2024

This Atlantic halibut Conservation Harvesting Plan (CHP) applies to groundfish licence holders with fixed gear of the less than 19,81 m fleet from Magdalen Islands when conducting Atlantic halibut fishing activities in 4RST divisions from May 15, 2024 to May 14, 2025.

Application and Fishing Areas

This Conservation Harvesting Plan (CHP) for Greenland halibut applies to all Quebec Region fixed gear groundfish licence holders associated with vessels less than 19.81 metres fishing in NAFO Divisions 4RST from May 15, 2024 to May 14, 2025.

Fishing season

The fishing seasons set out below are in effect for the duration of the validity of this CHP and represent the maximum fishing period. Specific periods will be confirmed by Notice to Fish Harvesters or Variation Orders.

This Conservation Harvesting Plan (CHP) for Atlantic halibut applies to groundfish licence holders from the following fleets when conducting Atlantic halibut fishing activities in NAFO's 4RST Zone Divisions during the management year from May 15, 2024 to May 14, 2025.

Upper and Middle North Shore fixed gear fleet of less than 19.81 m (UMNS);

Lower North Shore fixed gear fleet of less than 19.81 m (LNS).

Sept-Îles – June 10, 2024

Fisheries and Oceans Canada - Quebec Region announces the opening for the Atlantic halibut fishery in NAFO Divisions 4RST by the Lower North Shore (LNS) fixed gear fleet of less than 19.81 m under the Individual Transferable Quotas (ITQ) regime in 2024-2025.

The opening is scheduled for Monday, June 17, 2024 at 5:00 a.m. (EDT) as recommended by the fleet representatives. The fishery will close on Sunday, September 22, 2024 at 11:59 p.m. (EDT).
