1.    Application

This Conservation Harvesting Plan (CHP) for Atlantic halibut applies to licence holders of the following fleets when conducting fishing activities for Atlantic halibut in Divisions 4RST of the Northwest Atlantic Fisheries Organization (NAFO) from May 15, 2025 to May 14, 2026 :

1. Application

This Atlantic halibut Conservation Harvesting Plan (CHP) applies to groundfish licence holders with fixed gear of the less than 19,81 m fleet from Magdalen Islands when conducting Atlantic halibut fishing activities in 4RST divisions from May 15, 2025 to May 14, 2026.

Fisheries and Oceans Canada - Quebec Region announces the 2025-2026 management measures for the Atlantic halibut fixed gear fleet from Magdalen Islands.

 

Fishing Season

The duration of the fishing season is 18 weeks, as follows:

Period 1:        From July 25 to October 31, 2025

Period 2:        From April 1 to April 28, 2026

 

Quota and management regime

Opening of the rock crab fishery in sub-areas 16A to 16G - North Shore

Sept-Iles – July 24, 2025

 

Fisheries and Oceans Canada - Quebec Region announces the opening of the sub-areas 16A to 16G rock crab fishing season from July 31 until November 26, 2025.

 

In order to obtain the Conditions of Licence, licence holders will have to apply for them through the National Licensing System online. Fisheries and Oceans Canada informs the Bluefin tuna Quebec licence holders of the management measures for the commercial fishery in the Gulf of St. Lawrence and Ex-sector that will be in place for the 2025 fishing season.
