New Regional Director, Programs, at the Canadian Coast Guard
The Canadian Coast Guard, Central and Arctic Region, is pleased to announce the appointment of Sylvain Vézina as Regional Director, Programs. He is taking over from Sylvie Pelletier, who has held the position for the last four years.
Until very recently, Mr. Vézina was the Regional Director of the Human Resources and Workplace Services Branch at Indigenous and Northern Affairs Canada. He began his career with the Public Service of Canada at Industry Canada in 1998, where he held several positions as an economist.
From 2006 to 2012, Mr. Vézina worked in the Canadian Coast Guard as Regional Director, Integrated Business Management Services. In that role, he oversaw all activities related to the development and improvement of business processes, human resources, financial management and strategic planning. He has also held the position of Acting Director, Integrated Technical Services several times.
His knowledge of our organization and his ability to bring people together will be important assets that will help him face the challenges of consolidating and integrating activities in the Canadian Coast Guard's new Central and Arctic Region. We are certain he will do brilliantly.
