SUBJECT: Opening of the areas B and C sea cucumber fishery

Gaspé – July 22, 2025

Fisheries and Oceans Canada – Quebec Region announces the opening of the sea cucumber commercial fishery using a dredge in Areas B and C. The competitive fishery will be open from July 23 to September 30, 2025.
The Area B and C total allowable catches (TACs) in the authorized depth stratum (32-42 m) are as follows:

Management measures are described in the 2024-2026 Sea Cucumber Conservation Harvesting Plan approved July 19, 2024.
Furthermore, it should be noted that during the period during which fishing is authorized, it is the captain's responsibility to read the notices issued by Environment and Climate Change Canada and Transport Canada related to marine safety, as well as safety standards and good practices, and take all the necessary steps to ensure safe fishing.
