COMPREHENSIVE REVIEW OF THE STRENGTHENING OF INSHORE FISHERIES REGULATIONS – STAKEHOLDER PARTICIPANTS INVITATION

Quebec – August 24, 2026

The Department of Fisheries and Oceans (DFO) is currently conducting a comprehensive review of the Inshore Regulations (Part III of the Atlantic Fishery Regulations, 1985) and is inviting stakeholders to participate in upcoming engagement sessions.

The purpose of this review is to gather perspectives from participants on the current regulations and better understand:

• general concerns with the Inshore Regulations;
• challenges experienced with the current implementation of the regulations and the benefits of having strong regulatory measures;
• opportunities to improve the regulations; and
• other issues participants consider important to the review.

The Quebec Region engagement session will take place as follows:

Time: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. (EDT) | 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (ADT – Magdalen Islands)

Location: L'Hôtel Québec, 3115 Des Hôtels Avenue, Quebec City, Quebec G1W 3Z6
