Notices to Fish Harvesters

Quebec – April 23, 2026

Fisheries and Oceans Canada - Quebec Region announces the opening date for snow crab fishing in Area 13 for the 2026 Season. Two fishing season options will be available in 2026, at the choice of the licence holder :

• Option 1: April 27 to August 3, 2026.
• Option 2: May 11 to August 17, 2026.

Please note that the season will open at 4:30 a.m. (EDT).

Furthermore, it should be noted that during the period during which fishing is authorized, it is the captain's responsibility to read the notices issued by Environment and Climate Change Canada and Transport Canada related to marine safety, as well as safety standards and good practices, and take all the necessary steps to ensure safe fishing.

To obtain the Conditions of Licence, harvesters must access the National Licensing System online and submit an application, specifying the period during which they intend to engage in fishing activities.
